BALDWIN PARK MODEL UNITED NATIONS
BPHS' first academic team with a mission to develop informed global citizens through diplomatic education and practice of UN procedure.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is simple: to create a space at Baldwin Park High School where students can come together to learn about global issues and develop important skills through our Model United Nations Club. We're all about fostering teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership in a fun and inclusive environment. Our goal is to empower every student, regardless of background or resources, to become active global citizens who can make a difference in our world.
Step 1
Learn
Start learning about global issues and how to discuss solutions and debate through constructive conversations.
Step 2
Practice
Engage in mock simulations of UN committees and adopt different perspectives to understand the multi-layered process of diplomatic negotiations.
Step 3
Network
Get to know like-minded peers who embrace global citizenship and understand the complexities of international law and conflict resolution.
Step 4
Debate
Sharpen your debate skills as you discuss global issues and further develop your understanding of international law and diplomacy.
step 5
Grow
Grow as an individual, honing communication and public speaking skills while working towards becoming an informed global citizen.
WHAT DO WE DO?
In our club, members have the opportunity to participate in simulated UN sessions, where they represent different countries and work together to address real-world challenges. We also organize workshops, guest speaker events, and conferences to enhance our understanding of global issues and improve our debating skills. Don't believe us? Join and find out for yourself!
